Definition

An individual is a living being which exists as a distinct entity, for how much a part can be understood as autonomous from the whole. Individuality (or selfhood) is the state or quality of being an entity, a living being, a person "separate" from other people. An individual is possessing its own force, both in the physical realm (the physical force (the strength) and in the cognitive one (the will). And more, it is a subject of needs or goals, rights and responsibilities. The relation between individuality and universality is a key concept in this system of knowledge. Another key concept is the perception of being of an individual as separated from and, at the same time, as part of the whole, of the Universe.
