Action and Energy are two central concepts in physics. Energy is an elementary form of Information. So, we need to rephrase: Action and Information are two central concepts in physics. Action and Information / Energy come immediately after two other fundamental concepts: Force and Field, which in this model of description of Reality are always coupled into a unitary entity, a Source. The correct sequence is: Source (Force + Field) -> Action -> Information -> Structures -> Form. In other words: Entities (Sources) that produce Events (Action) organized by Relations (Information) into Processes (Structures) that form the Reality. The difference between the concepts of Action and Information / Energy is very important. Normally we define Action starting from Energy (action is the integral between two instants of the temporal evolution of a system). We should do the opposite, since Action is a causal and variational precursor of Energy, of Information. Energy is a physical quantity derived from Action. So we should define Energy as the derivative of Action with respect to time. The difference between these two concepts is therefore essentially Time, one of the primary Dimensions of Reality. Deriving, dividing by time means taking a snapshot of a System. We cannot observe the flow of Events that cause a system to change. We can only take two (or more) snapshots (observations / measurements) and compare them to understand what happened (how the system has changed) between the snapshots. This is probably why Action has historically been defined starting from Energy. Energy (or rather Information) is what we measure. We cannot directly measure Action, we can only calculate it by integrating the Energy between two successive instants in Time.

Why do we speak of Information / Energy, of Energy as an elementary form of Information? Because when we take a snapshot of the world what we get is not the flow of Action, of Events, what we get is not a flow, it is not Reality in its formation, in its becoming, but an image, a representation, static, a state in fact. States, to which Information / Energy correspond, do not exist in Reality, because Time never stops. Elementary Events are incessantly produced by the Source of Reality, by the Action of the Fundamental Force on the Elementary Field. Time, a relative concept, whose (local) flow rate is a function of the density of Elementary Events, never stops. It can slow down to almost stop, as we hypothesize happens in the presence of very high mass densities, for example at the center of black holes. But it can never stop (this would require an infinite mass density, which is not possible even if all the mass of the universe were concentrated in an infinitesimal point, no rooms for "singularities" in this model).

Due to its causal and variational nature, well expressed by the Principle of Uncertainty, Reality is constantly changing. Nothing is truly static, at all scales of magnitude, at all levels of complexity. It is an ontological property, not a phenomenological aspect that can be corrected with more accurate measurement techniques, with a more accurate choice of experiments, observations, systems to be measured. Energy and Time are linked by a fundamental indetermination, which originates from the uncertainty that underlies the incessant creation of Reality: the Planck scale tiny fluctuations (Elementary Events), the inhomogeneities in whose distributions that represent the Elementary Action in its Modes / Components, from which all the fundamental physical quantities derive: Space and Time, Mass (deformation of Space-time), Motion, Charge and Spin.

And then, after this premise, what is the meaning of the word Information in a physical perspective? Basically we have said that Information and Energy, as its elementary form, do not exist as everything is constantly changing. But then Information / Energy don't exist? What are they? What guarantees "permanence", conservation, which is the basis of the Evolution of Reality? If nothing is preserved, what can change more or less slightly to allow for evolution?

Information and Energy do not exist if by them we mean representations of states of a system. Because true "states" do not exist, they change incessantly. The faster this change is (the shorter the time in the equation that links Energy and Time in the definition of Action), the more difficult it is to obtain a precise value of the Energy, a more "true", real information. For this reason, in this model of description of Nature we try to give a more dynamic definition of the concepts of Information and Energy. In a general sense, by Information we mean the scheme of Organization of the Relations between Events, or between Processes of Event, the structures of Reality. A scheme, a pattern of the organization of Relations between Events, of Action, of the Relation that organize Events in sets, or better in nets, in Processes.

At the most elementary level of Reality, we can reformulate this concept as the ever-changing configuration (within the limits of the Principle of Uncertainty) of the correlations (Elementary Information / Energy of the Elementary Field) between the inhomogeneities (Elementary Action) of the distributions of Planck-scale small fluctuations (Elementary Events). The correlations between the Modes / Components of Elementary Action (Perturbation, Translation, Rotation:Chirality, Rotation:AxisOrientation) lead us respectively to the slightly more complex forms of Information that we call "Energy of physical systems": Mass, Motion, Charge and Spin.

Information is the foundation and object of the evolutionary sub-process, just as Action (Events) is the foundation and object of the creative sub-process. The two together make up the Process of Formation of Reality.

Why Information is so important both in the field of General Relativity and in Quantum Mechanics? Because everything we deal with is Information. We, as well as the whole Universe, are made of Information, we are Information, we are composed of Structures of Information, that is Action that has taken a form, Events organized by Relations in networks, in Processes. Information...

As we have seen above, Information is and come from the Relations among Action, among Events. We can't directly see or measure Action, Events. We can observe and measure the result of Action, of Events. In this sense, Information (and Energy) is always an artifact. It does not exists, in a common sense. Because Reality, everything does not exist in a classical sense. Reality happens. Only Events exist, and Relations between them, between the Action that compose Processes, which form everything that exist, in an incessant evolution.

Information, or Energy is and give us a representation of Reality. To take a snapshot we have to stop Time. A snapshot is not Reality. It is a representation of Reality. Reality incessantly is created and evolves. It incessantly goes on. In Reality there are not Information and Energy. In Reality there are only Events, Action, Relations, Processes that make all happen. Our cognitive systems, under the vital pressure to construct models of Reality to help our conservation and evolution in a complex and difficult world, incessantly take pictures of everything. We observe and make measurements, and we thing that these snapshot, this Information, these Energy measured quantities are real, are the effective Reality. But they don't.

They are always representations, snapshots, pictures of something in incessant motion, something from the past, We try to stop time to enjoy the landscape, but the landscape incessantly changes and we don't ever see the "real" landscape. We can only enjoy a series of pictures, of static, and so unreal, representations of Reality. From this aspect of Reality and of the Representations of Reality comes the problem of measurement, a central problem in the interpretation of Quantum Mechanics.

Action becomes Information (and its most elementary form, Energy) when we stop Time (in physics, if we divide Action by Time, we get Energy). In Nature, of course, we cannot stop Time. We can try to stop Time by making observations, measurements, snapshots of the unstoppable Process of Formation of Reality. Always approximations, due to the omnipresent indetermination, according to the Principle of Uncertainty. Each interaction is an exchange of Information (or Energy in the elemental levels of Reality). Interactions, as expressions of Sources, force / field pairs, are made up of Events, Action. They modify the forms of the systems that interact. What is exchanged is Action that transforms. Information, in fact.
