Definition
Le particelle elementari si uniscono per formare strutture complesse a tutte le scale dimensionali, dai protoni composti da quark, agli atomi e molecole, attraverso gli stati della materia (gas, liquidi e solidi, ecc.) fino agli enormi conglomerati di materia nelle stelle e galassie. Tutto ciò attraverso le quattro fondamentali forze o modalità di interazione.
